Pastor Hans and Wendy Elgby began their ministry with Hodgson Bible Church on January 1st, 2018. "We are thankful and honored to be called to serve in this warm and friendly church. Our hope is that we, together with the elders, and the whole church (and with the Lord Jesus Christ!) will serve to glorify our God and Savior. Alongside the church we desire to worship the Lord in purity and truth, lovingly present the gospel, and uphold and proclaim the whole Bible. Our prayer is that the church would continue to be faithful to the good heritage received from the Lord."
Hans and Wendy have previously served as missionaries in Pakistan, and in pastoral ministry in rural SE Saskatchewan. Hans studied at Briercrest Bible College and Seminary.
In 2 Corinthians 5 Paul exalts the Lord Jesus Christ, and urges His followers to be faithful ambassadors in conveying to a needy world the life giving message of reconciliation. He opens chapter 6 with the beautiful description of Christians being workers together with Him... Not just workers together with each other, but primarily workers together with Jesus."
(Written by Hans Elgby as a submission to the FEBC conference magazine, Fellowship Focus)
In 2020, Our dear Wendy went to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. We miss her smile and gentle caring spirit at Hodgson Bible Church but we are very grateful for the ongoing ministry of Pastor Hans.
