Position Papers
Hodgson Bible Church upholds the position of the Fellowship of Evangelical Bible Churches. The attached statements reflect what the Fellowship believes to be the biblical position on various social issues. Each issue has been carefully researched before the position was written. The statement was then reviewed and revised by the Fellowship Executive Committee.
Each of these statements has been reviewed by the local Fellowship congregations, which have often provided additional suggestions and clarifications. The statements were then revised again by the Executive Committee, redistributed to congregations, discussed in delegate sessions, and approved by the Fellowship delegates at an annual convention.
Our goal is to clarify what we believe the Bible says about these social issues, then offer suggestions on how local congregations can respond to the biblical material to help their people “become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life … ” (Philippians 2:14-16 NIV).
